Hm, any particular reason why scart is not standard in US?
SCART only became standard in 50hz regions because France made the connector mandatory for connecting minitel decoders & it was cheaper to make one standard TV and sell it to everyone.
Because 60hz TV's were different and never offered RGB inputs, 60hz devices that output it were rare. Component video took off instead.
