This is exactly what I was looking for, the odd thing as as i read through this it says that they were used as slave cpus, but it was the only cpu on the poard and the computer was funtional before it was rained on oops.
If you could post some pictures of the full board then it might be possible to verify whether it was the only processor on there. It was designed to be used as a microcontroller & while it's possible to use that as the only processor it would be rare (although the magnavox odyssey 2/philips videopac control used an 8048 microcontroller).
You can tell if the program for it is internal by checking whether pin 7 is grounded or connected to vcc (? 5v).
