There is no "application", it's just a website. And there are no devs that are ever going to use "Project Metropolis".

The yearly fee of 40 USD would have to be paid by the developer, for the privilege to have his software listed on said website. You, as a customer, would only pay for applications you purchase.

But you really don't need get interested in any details. Project Metropolis is just another excuse to create 'press releases'.

Incorrect on all counts.

There is an application, actually. One that is available for MorphOS, AmigaOS and AROS

As far as I remember it from the top of my head, the 40 USD are also not for one year but several (3, I think).

It's kind of like Steam and the likes.

Well for the next 72 hours it's free for one year. Yes, there is a an application for AmigaOS, MorphOS & AROS.

So I have to pay $39.96 to access the application and download it into my Amiga 1200 to then use the application itself to browse and buy software online through the apps and see what new apps and games are available for me in my A1200?

What if in one year I cancelled my subscription, does that mean I cannot use the App I installed into my A1200 anymore?

Ones I pay the $39.96 yearly subscription will there be a link for me to download hte application? Is the name of app called Metropolis?

End users pay $0 for the Project Metropolis App. They only pay if they buy an application in the store.

Why in God's name would an Amiga developer use a service that takes a 30% cut to distribute software to a tiny community whose members are all already well-acquainted with downloading and installing software from the Internet, on a platform that has had a perfectly decent installer system since 1990?

Well we do advertise and market Project Metropolis so that's one plus for developers. We have a full page color Ad in Amiga Future 100 & 101 for example. At the end of the day though each developer will have to decide if Project Metropolis is a right or wrong solution for them. They are welcome to keep doing it the old way but that has not really helped this market grow much.

If it helps everyone we can explain where the 30% of our cut goes. Payment processing fees like Paypal fees come out of DFX share not the developer. Royalties to the developer of the Project Metropolis App also come out of DiscreetFX's share. Of course we also host and promote all the commercial applications and give customers a quick App based way to buy then download the software. We take care of the infrastructure for the developer giving them more time to develop and enhance their applications.

How does VAT work?
Do you take care of this or will I have to figure this out myself/declare it on the annual tax declaration form?

Furthermore, I'd like to know what will be the next step, as I've been accepted for Metropolis earlier that day.

Will I receive a developer login of some sorts?

You will have to do the VAT stuff sorry. Yes you will get developer login details soon. We will help you with next steps soon.
