Amiga.org Lifetime Membership Special
« on: October 17, 2011, 03:41:46 AM »
Several months back Amiga.org had continuous slowdown issues so we upgraded to a robust high bandwidth hosting plan to give all members a smooth as silk responsive site. Now we are running a special on limited number of lifetime premium memberships to help share in the hosting charges.

It's a great deal for members because you get a lifetime membership to the site with all that brings for only a one time fee of $30. Normally one year memberships are $20. So please enjoy the site and if you can become a lifetime member and no longer worry about renewals and help keep Amiga.org on net.

To become a lifetime member just click "Feed the kitty" on the lower right. Then pick custom amount and input $30. You're membership will then be upgraded to lifetime status with 24 hours or less. Thanks again for the help.

Very small text Ads make less than $100 every six months. Premium Members see no ads whatsoever.

Donations have not covered hosting expensives thus far but are most appreciated. Donations of course are voluntary and not required. The minority most vocal against donations have never donated even $1. Premium Membership comes with most donations and gives additional site benefits.

I do not believe your memberships + donations + adverts do not cover hosting costs (you are on shared hosting!). perhaps you include your time as expenses too. without you being open about actual figures, we will never know.

Not everyone thinks the users of a site should be responsible for paying for it and constantly asked about giving donations. bearing in mind, it is the contributions from the users that actually give this site any value at all.

You're welcome to  believe anything you like, it does not change the facts though. Amiga.org does have some great user contributions and members. We maintain the hub that allows this to take place.

We invested considerable money in buying the site and maintaining it with a nice fast robust hosting plan. If we were just trying to make a few quid we are in the wrong business because that is not what happened. Donations to the site are always visible on the donations page. We acquired Amiga.org first and foremost to keep it available for the Amiga community because Wayne was considering shutting it down.  We thought it was important to keep it available for the members that enjoy it and use it daily.
