For Power processors!
(that doesn't mean PPCs for the unwashed)
Let's hope cheap Power 8 actually does become a possibility.
With China Core working with IBM and its partner this could just happen.

Good call.
If I was in the market for a new X64 processor I'd buy an eight core FX.
Maybe Intel has some higher performing CPUs, but the combination of eight cores and an affordable price is unbeatable.
And Win7 is better at handling that processor than older versions of Windows (XP can't deal with it).
But I doubt Win7 will be supported for 20 or 30 years.

The FX makes a good linux core too.

I'm just really fond of alternative ISAs.
