Now I know that in some places it's still April the 1st but whether this one is real or not doesn't really matter... :)

It's just plain weird and could be very, very interesting... :)

It started with an email I received tonight at CommodoreScotland.com from someone I'd never heard of before wanting to talk "Amiga" and giving me some phone number that doesn't even make sense here in the UK... :)

Read about it here and see what you make of it... :D

Mark Want's to talk Amiga !!!

I know it's not the best day to believe this but I assure you it's true, either this guy is having a crap attempt at an April fool or he's the worst lawyer that I've ever came across... :roflmao:

Verified primary phone number as a land line in Chicago, Illinios.

The only Mark Thomann I could find is a 44 year old married resident of Chicago (with a fairly expensive home) who works for River West Btands LLC.

The address of West River Brands does not correspond to the address you were given so this may not be your man. So your Mark Thomann may be a individual with a lower public profile.

I can verify that the address you've been given does belong to Pluritas.
And, if I'm not mistaken, these were the people that were assisting AInc in the marketing of their assets.
However, as Pluritas' phone number begins with a different area code (than your phone number starts with) this combination of address and phone numbers seems unlike.

There is still over 4 hours of April 4th left in Chicago, so this very well could be a well thought out prank.

However, I would advise against talking to him directly, especially about Amiga.

I suggest that anything you do with this individual be in writing.

The whole thing sounds screwy. You could send some of this info to Mark Thomann at Pluritas.
I don't think he'd be amused by it.
For that matter, this might not really involve Mark Thomann of River West Btands.
And, unless you've verified one of the phone numbers, they may not lead back to your perp.
Right now, just sit back and documents everything.
There are no real legal issues here. You've got a fan/hobbyist website with a completely legal name and your not distributing anything remotely questionable.
I can't really see why anyone at Pluritas or River West Btands would even want to talk to you.

But, even if its part of an April's Fool joke, the contacts you've received appear to be potentially fraudulent. That's not funny. Its a crime. So just save everything and sit back and wait.
