A PPC expansion card, as opposed to a PPC machine, is a hardware *extension* to the *Amiga*, and I'm guessing he wants to get the latter, for which reason I gave a suggestion. I wouldn't mind a PPC expansion (on a working 68k machine) to play around with, but I wouldn't even pay for that.
Regarding emulator, well, the emulator can run hardware banging programs/games/demos. It might be virtual, but that's Amiga to me; running Amiga software, including aforementioned hw banging ones is the deciding factor for me. If I'm to spend most my time in a *UAE box on top of PPC "amiga like" OS to get my Amiga needs then that PPC + OS is not an Amiga for me. For that reason I stick to any of the mainstream x86 "amiga unlike" OSs + *UAE for maximum amount of functionality, flexibility, apps and Amiga fun.
He has a good point. If your primary interest is legacy software then either run it on legacy hardware or use emulation. A PPC OS is a neat platform for carrying software development forward, but when running legacy software its not doing much more than an emulator.
