Wow! Why dig that turkey up?
And how did you find it?

The frightening thing is we still have hobbyist who want to build Coldfire based hardware, and Freescale is still pushing Coldfire processors hard.

Oh dear.
Since people who were included in that group are involved in current project people seem to swear are going to materialize, you better pray they are -not- clowns.

REALLY?
Which projects? You don't have to name individuals, but this sounds interesting.

Naming the project would be as wrong as naming the individual.
On AW, we have a policy of not posting specifics from irc conversations into forums without permission of those involved in the conversation.
I have no idea what amiga.org policy is on such things, but I'm sure some people here are well aware of whom I refer to.
Should they wish to go into further detail, they might do so.
I will not. My only purpose in mentioning what I did was to speak to the fact that very few people know how many people were involved in those former projects, and why they ended up the way they did.
Unfortunately, as is often the case in Amiga NDA land, the truth will never be known, and I'm sure I'll be accused of trolling just for throwing out the possibility that what the public has seen is not necessarily the truth.
In addition, I've been asked to not drudge up the past, even when it shows a different picture, since these people want to move on with their lives.

Sorry, if that's still too vague for you Iggy, but that's all I feel like saying.

I've actually had a few people in the Amiga market request directly that I not disclose something they told me. I've respected their requests and I see no reason to pressure you on this.
Besides, I'm waiting to see if the Atari Firebee will work reasonably well.
The developers have already failed to produce one machine they announced in the past.
And no one that's announced a Coldfire based system to run 68K software has actually moved to full production.
So its wait and see.
