I had both back in the days, and I liked the design og the A600 best... Is it difficult to put in a larger harddrive ? .. Mine back then was only 40 mb :-)

Compact flash with IDE to compact flash adaptor way to go.

For your tv output I suggest you get the Amigamaniac SVHS adaptor works great and flicker free on LCD TV's.

I'd recommend a 1200 rather than a 600, more expansion opportunities.

Need any help let us know.  I also recommend for retro gaming purposes to get WHD Load, a great program and worthy of buying.

I also got alot of Amos stuff still, including all the Amos programming books ever written and the Amos Aussie News letter from issue 2 to 9.

If you want to transfer your AMOS knowledge to PC, I heartily recommend Dark Basic Pro (now free with the advert supported version).

Best of luck with it all!

The A1200 won't cost much more than the A600 second hand (well, in the UK/Europe). And you get twice the ram, twice the speed (and it doubles again as soon as you add fast ram), and more colours/resolution choices, plus it will run most of your old OCS/ECS stuff (especially with WHDload). It's a no brainer really, unless you only want to program OCS/ECS.

With AMOS you're pretty much stuck ECS land unfortunately, they never did release an Amos that officially supported VGA.

But anyway, get an Amiga 1200.  I think you'll regret getting an Amiga 600 in the long run as for the reasons others have stated already.

Check out amigamaniac web site for info on things you may want.

Well my take on it is...

Sony used profits from their high quality reliable A/V product sales to muscle in on the console market after Nintendo publicly embarassed them with the SNES-CDROM project.

Microsoft used profits from their illegal monopoly on OS market and their overpriced substandard rubbish operating systems like Vista etc

So in a world of lesser evils I would rather Nintendo and Microsoft went bust and Sega came back and battled with Sony :)

Severely off topic.   This is about the Amiga, not who has the moral high ground.

To the op get an Amiga 1200.  The End!
