Compact flash card arrived for 1200 - no instructions
« on: March 18, 2010, 08:09:06 AM »
Hi,

I got the 4 gig Kingston card and the adapter to connect to my Amiga 1200 IDE port but there are no instructions (ebayer said he'd include instructions).

Do I just do it like this?

http://www.amigascene.nl/download/Amiga1200CF-v0_8.pdf

As per the compact flash connected to ide port on the Amiga 1200.

I believe you can do damage if you plug things around the wrong way so don't want to plug it in until I know for sure.

Cheers!

Tbh it depends in what adapter you got.
Is it 40 or 44 pins?
Male of Female?
Normal connector or Angled one?

Anyway...
The adapter has a small triangle on the PCB where the connector is. Triangle means Red wire or ribbbon (if any) and No1 pin in A1200's mobo IDE connector.

That's all

Well it is exactly the same as the one in the pic, so is the pic correct?

Okay, can confirm it is the Kingston flash card is the issue and not my Amgia or the compact flash card adapter.

Ebay seller has asked me to send the whole package back, when all I asked for was a replacement flash card once he received the fault one.  He said if it doesn't work for him, he'll send me a replacement, if it does work he will just refund my money.

I have emailed Kingston memory to see if I can claim it under warranty, as they come with life time warranty and might be the quickest solution.

I am not worried about the 2,200 wdhload as I have them already downloaded.  I purchased another compact flash card installed with Workbench 3.1 and have MagicWB installed.

So least the system is up and running and can confirm my IDE port works fine.  Hopefully next week I'll receive the accelerator card, keyboard adapter and usb to 9 pin mouse adapter so I can actually start using it.

Also does anyone know where I can get Deluxe Paint V as in boxed with manual?  Is it pretty rare?
