Question about 060.library file sizes.
« on: August 05, 2012, 12:05:23 AM »
I am working on a project where I need to know the exact sizes of the various 68060.library + matching 68040.library files out there, or to be more exact, I need to know which ones are the largest.

I don't have a 060 based accelerator myself, and it would just be too much work trying to find out this by checking out the disks that was included with the 060 cards. That is why I'm starting this thread.

Well, it is actually Amiga911 related. I have a feeling that there are  some people who might be interested in trying out an Amiga911 boot disk,  but who also thinks that it sounds like too much hassle to use Amiga911  Maker for creating one. That's why I'm considering to create some  generic Amiga911 ADF images which people can try out instead.
There is of course the problem with copyrighted system files, but I will  try to solve this by using the same method that is used by the  ClassicWB packs. In other words, upon booting the Amiga911 disk for the  first time, the user will be instructed to insert the Workbench disk so  that some files can be copied from it.

But the thing is that in order for me to add support for Amigas with 060  CPU's, I have to know the sizes of the 060 libraries since I have to  make sure that I leave enough space on the boot disks for them.
