It takes about half a day for me to recap an Amiga - but don't forget amigakit probably have a queue!

Can it kill your working Amiga? Of course it can. You an always kill something when you're removing and replacing lots of components. But the chances of it dying when being recapped are much lower than the chances of it dying if you don't get it recapped.

Personally I'm of the "prevention is better than cure" philosophy. I recap all my Amigas as standard. If you leave it too late, the first symptom of a capacitor failure may be much more serious damage caused by the cap leaking.
