Do you have got a cool scsi controller on your A4000 like a Fastlane Z3
If so then try to connect a cdrom to the scsi controller so it will take an impressive load of your processor.
Get an IDE controller. Powerflyer Z3 from Elbox is the best and comes with an install floppy that detects everything that is connected to the 2 IDE ports !!
