CDRW in original A4000D on original IDE port ???

I`m just wondering if I can mount a CDRW (52x32x52 for 40 euro) in my A4000D ?? There will be burn proof technology on that CDRW and I have read you can activate that in MakeCD by adding a line in the icon of MakeCD, something like 'MAKECD_BURN_PROOF' or so. Can this work or do I need a Fast ATA IDE controller Would the IDE ports on a Xsurf do the work too ?? I know they are not normal controllers so I am not sure ...
I sold my 68060 MK II turboboard last week for 180 euro and got an original 68040/25 board in return.
I also discovered that the four Simms on my motherboard were each 1 Mb only, so I replaced them with 4 Mb ones and now I have 16 Mb Ram. Pitty I can not replace the 2 Mb chip by a 8 Mb and move the jumper to use 8 Mb ...

FrAmiga : I also know that it't the CDRW that is burn proof and not just software, but the Burn Proof needs to be activated through the software ...

Framiga : yes, that is indeed the thing I wanted to say. I also have got a pc and in the burn program Nero you need to click on 'burn proof enable' or so. I think that otherwise the burn proof won't be activated in the CDRW.

Cyberus : shall try to get on then. I thought they would not go under 50 or 60 euro ...

Here is a hardware review of a Plextor with burn proof and it states clearly

'As regards software, I'm using the very comprehensive MakeCD DAO version, but an important point to note is to make sure you have the latest version 3.2d, as this supports BURN-Proof drives. To activate it though, you'll have to set a tooltype in the MakeCD icon. Enter the icon's information window and enter MAKECD_BURN_PROOF as a new tooltype. If you don't, and a buffer underrun occurs, the CD isn't ruined, but MakeCD interrupts writing anyway, as it thinks the CD is ruined. Set the tooltype, and set the writing speed to maximum (0), and away you go: faultless CDs every time!'

so I guess that burn proof is not activated when you install it for the first time ...
