Help Fusion Forty CPU Install

I got a RCS Fusion Forty rev 2.0 card from ebay and it came without a CPU.  I finally got a 040 chip and was about to install it but do now know how to orient it!  There is no key or any information on the card!  Any pics I see online show a heatsync on the card so I don't know how to orient it!  Anyone able to help?  Thanks!

Nope the socket has all the pins and no markings!  Arrghhh..  Nothing as to how chip needs to be installed.  Well I am not going to try it as I will surely fry the chip or card (if it is not already dead)

Hey thanks, I have the same card, rev 2.0, is the image in your gallery?  I will keep a look out for it.  Hopefully it gets "approved" quickly so I can try this while I am at work.

Thanks for the email with pics, it seems I installed it correctly!  Yay.  But it doesn't seem to work, when I boot up it says it has a 68000.  Thats without running  the RCS Fusion 40 software.  When I tested it at work I did not have the drivers, I did finally find them.  I know you need it to get the RAM mapped, but shouldn't the 040 show up even w/o the 68040.library?  I tried the switch in both positions too.  I tried the CBM one and it seemed to boot up to WB but shows as a '00.  I also tried to startup w/o startup-sequence and ran SysInfo and shows as a '00.  Something must be wrong with it.   I will try the drivers tomorrow.  Thanks again!

OK I got it working, seems it was my GVP Series II HC with 4MB RAM that was causing the problem!  I installed a Supra WordSync and it booted right up and autoconfiged the RAM too!  WOW this thing flies!!  It is running at 28MHz.  I wonder if I can overclock it to 33MHz as I have other 25MHz 040 chips.  That is a later project...

Now the next issue.  I have Plug'N Go ROMs 2.1 and I need 3.4 before I can install my Kickstart 3.1 ROM inside my Toaster 2000.  Anyone have the 3.4 Plug'N Go ROMs?  Use Checkboard from the install disk to see what version you have.

OK I emailed him asking if he has the image files, if he does I will hook everyone up that needs the latest Plug'n Go ROMs!!!

Hey would anyone know how to make an image file from the card without removing the chips and reading them?  That way someone can simply make a image file and email it to us and we can then burn the file!  Same fashion as reading kickstart roms, but more legal!
