Well as a last resort, if you own the original game you can try to get a backup copy of the bad disk from someone else or just get a WHDLoad of the game. This would be legal since you own the original game! Also most data disks of cracked games should work with the original disk 1! Try that... PM me if you need any help.

I know what you mean! Most original games I get are bad or have errors on them. Some are DOA and the worst thing about it is it can damage your other disks! I was told that the ones that make noises and do not read can have small metallic particles come off on the read/write heads, then when you put in another original disk, the particles can scratch up that disk rendering it inop!! Be careful, and use disk head cleaning kits often. Thats what I do.
