Can you use any USB soundcard/NIC/Sata adapter or do you need to use special ones verified to work on Amiga?

Any SATA adapter complying to Mass Storage Device class (shouldn't give any exceptions nowadays).

NICs: only certain Pegasus and ASIX chipsets are supported. I recommend Pegasus ones.

sound card: should also comply to the corresponding USB class definition; we tried cheapo 3EUR ones from ebay and found them working, but watch out for some quality here.

No, it's the wrong one you present your hat.

This one should be for the users and our customers, who did support us during a long time without new products and a shortage of Zorro USB controllers (there was a PhD thesis to finish, for example).

Even a good product is nothing without people using it :-)

The DENEB autoconfigures by a chained config request, with one 64kB card (FlashROM) and one 128kB card (USB). Both cards are I/O, but can also life in the normal memory space.

If you are unsure just do a "showconfig > ram:bla.txt" and send me the ASCII output file per PM to mboehmere3b.de

What sort of speed would I get on the fast zorro II slot on my Z4 busboard on a 040/25 175/603e A1200

The rows with "FZ2" are Fast Zorro II mode, with Blizzard 1230IV and 1260.
