the usa is the greatest nation on earth.
the freedom you have to spout the nonsense that you are is proof that our freedom is still here and strong.

you guys really dont know how good we have it, and it is that ungratefullnes that is going to do more harm than what our president does.

we have had good presidents and bad for over 200 years but the pitiful attitudes we have been displaying since the 1960s or so are really what is weakening us. distust of authority, even authority that we put into power is stupid. do you honestly think our leaders are out to destroy us? they are only in office for a few years for petes sake. they cant take over the world and subjagate us all if their term is only 4

Tell that to all the poor and homeless. America is great in some ways especially if you have a good job. But things are not so great for those who were not so fortunate. I do not think that USA is a bad country at all, but i there are other countries i would rather move to.
I think it is pretty arrogant to claim that your country is the best, when it has flaws just like other countries have.
I have a bunch of american news channels, and i can definitely say that the press and tv over here have more freedom when it comes to freedom of speech.

yes i have been outside the us, and i never claimed that we are the only ones with free speech.
there are poor and homeless in every country in the world. there are some in the city nearest me.
i live in the us, i love the us, im quite patriotic so are many people in the world. if a canadian said that canada was the best country in the world i wouldnt disagree. or a norwegian or briton, or french (you get the point)
please dont form you opinion of someplace (us included) by news reports. or popular media even. with the news you get all the bad stuff, and with popular media you get a very stilted view. how exactly do you mean they have more freedom? our media rip the president apart, they are allowed to curse and talk about almost any subject. we dont normally show nudety if not blurred. some of that is restricted by popularity more than the government

thats called wellfare, foodstamps and such here. there are people who for whatever reason dont accept help. those are the ones you see.

reread my post. nowhere in it did i say anything about the us being perfect. i know there are flaws just like in any country. people complaining does little to nothing to improve anything. especially in an international forum. volunterism and activisim do help. comedians and others are just making money making fun of people. they arent trying to help. you dont see them making any helpfull suggestions do you. same thing with the media they have a job to sell whatever story they have.

id love to come to norway sometime. i had a freind in school that went for a year.

btw i have seen quite a few reports on iraqi civilians and the problems of sectarian violence, security, energy infrastructure and quite a few other things. right from the very beginning. as well as a few interviews with iraqi citizens both for and against the us and us iraqis.
it is ok to use almost any language in tv over here except f**k, g*dd and a few others. and yes some is used even in news stuff, especially on comedy central :-D
