How long it takes? 10 minutes? 20 minutes? How long "AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition" screen stays on before getting to system setup?

Are you sure the PPC is working? That final edition screen is the first loading of the OS from the CD. Have you tried using the PPC test floppy that checks the PPC that Phase5 has made?

I'm telling you, if you want to use 4.1 just sell that machine and get an X5000! It boots classic apps faster than my real 4000T does. Get a stock 1200 if you want to have a classic machine still.

Just to get this straight, PPC doesnt do anything on OS3.9. In best case it serves as a passthrough for a Bvision. And yes, OS3.9 is very responsive on RTG but PPC has nothing to do with that!

The only purpose for PPC under OS3.9 (apart from applications, games and demos) are archivers and datatypes.

Thats not completely correct, but you are close. Some of the stuff Thor has done and speedgeek has made a lot of use of it with system replacement libs. I dont use my CSPPC a lot and prefer my X5000 for all things Amiga related now since getting it, but OS4.1FE on a classic machine is nearly useless with the little RAM it supports and slow CPU. I have a 410Mhz PPC in mine and hate it, I cant imagine a stock one!
