No, I purchased my OS 3.9 CD, MUI license, Roadshow license (I even verified with apc-tcp how many computers 1 license covers, answer 2, which is great as I have 2 vampires (600/500)), and such. When I find something that is pre-installed that I use/want to use, I purchase it. I'm hoping to eventually use his build, strip out the stuff I don't need/want, apply my licenses and then create a new image for my use.
What I am promoting is a shortcut for troubleshooting and testing. Why go through all kinds of trouble with fresh installs, and patches, when that work is done for you. Would I prefer a version that is stripped down, sure, but at least this is a quick way to test things are physically working. Once you know that you can poke around find what is missing on your setup, and fix it.
Hope that adds some clarity.
If you are trying to use a CF adapter and a CD-ROM drive off the Vampire its not supported and you are darn lucky to have got as far as you have. Since you have all the stuff you need for 3.9 paid for get that ApolloOS build and follow the instructions for installing it onto a 32GB disk. Its well worth it. Everything you will ever want it to do is setup and ready to go once you boot it.
