Elbox remanufactured hardware proof!
« on: December 20, 2002, 04:48:35 PM »
This may be a bit harsh, but I found the Tower Elbox used to make the Mirage 3000 towers for the Amiga 3000D computers. I paid WAY to much for a $45 tower that just got converted some!! It makes me wonder what they paid for them.

On the other hand, if you feel you can buy these $45 towers yourself, modify them, supply all the parts and instructioins necessary and market them for less than Elbox then go right ahead. I may even buy one off you myself...

First off I didnt intend to say I was shafted, I love my tower. But keep in mind for those of you that thought it comes with zorro slots, it does not. It does come with all the hardware, but NO instructions of any kind at all. I had to guess at everything. I had to figure out all the power leads and lights myself. I have helped SEVERAL other Mirage owners as well that didnt get any instructions. It is well adapted and worth the money, I was just shocked at comming accross that web page looking for cheap towers. Thats how I found it. I searched "cheap budget towers"

Oh and I can make them. I havent used the same case, but I have made 5 others using a full tower case and a cardboard pattern I used as a template for a new back. If your interested in the pattern let me know. All you need is a good drill and a dremmel tool to make the cuts. Then some paint to clean it up. It works quite well.
