The days of the classic Amiga are gone. They do have boards that will let you make a 1200 more like a 4000T. Its called the Mediator and can be found at www.elbox.com. They made a card for PCI at one time but it never got finished. They also made a small 1200 clone called the Access that went into a drive bay. Not to many were made but you can find them pop up for sale from time to time.

No they are not glued on, its solder and they need to be removed using a head gun. Gutting the board away would still leave the solder points under the chip attached.
