Just checking, we are still allowed to slag off Aladdin and recommend that people buy something else and better, and to say that everyone at the company are jerks, and that they will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes ?

;)

PS U know this non-biased website that we have all grown to love and cherish

Your free to believe anything you like. We never promised the latest and cutting edge 3D animation tech in Aladdin 4D. It is a entry level, beginners package that also has some cool features like advance gas effects. When we took over Aladdin 4D the code had not been touched in almost a decade (no upgrades). We are not responsable for that long inactivity but since aquiring it over 3000 hours have been invested in making it multi-platform and updating it.

Until we got a peek at the source code we had no idea what we were in for! If you need the latest and greatest in 3D animation software we recommend LightWave 3D. One of the nice things about A4D is it's also available for Amiga OS, MorphOS & AROS. Prepair to be laughed at if you ask other 3D animation vendors to make their 3D app available for those platforms. We could have went the route of making Aladdin 4D Windows and Mac only but we chose not to.

@the_leander

We are looking into this. The forums are not broken per say but the Aladdin 4D ones are centered vs the standard left justification of all the other forums.

Thanx for the kinds words about Aladdin 4D 6.0. It will be worth the wait and will rub off on everybody. It's important to get this release right.

Rub the lamp, Render the magic.

I just saw this news item.  I was a membery of the old Aladdin4d.com forum.  It was useful but hopefully it gets more attention here, and more postings.

I really like Aladdin4d - it is a very capable piece of introductory 3d modelling software.  Don't let it's age fool you.  A creative person can make some very nice images/animation with this that would look good even today.

One question: will there be a version 6.0 for classic Amiga users (i.e. OS3.9)?

Thanks for using Aladdin 4D, it's lots of fun.

:)

Yes the forums were moved here so they get more attention and to make them easier to access. We are not sure if Aladdin 4D 6.0 will be for classic yet. The major new feature in 6.0 is that it's Muti-platform. Amiga OS 4.x native, MorphOS native, AROS native, Mac OS X native, Etc. Aladdin 4D 5.x for classic Amiga does not need this feature since it's already Amiga Classic native & Amiga Virtual Machine (Amiga Forever 2010) native.
