Have you tried MultiDos (on Aminet)?

I've used it for years, beginning in my A500 days.  I like how it mounts without an extra icon and the way it can be incorporated into a DirUtil.  It reads dos disks well with no fuss at all.  It's free, small and requires few resources.

It don't know if it includes text translators or supports long file names.  I don't use these features.  CrossDos probably includes a lot more stuff.

Try it out when Aminet comes back online.

@ Jose

Let me know how it turns out for you.

Sometimes, the oldest software are the programs with the smallest footprint.

Over the years, there were a number of excellent programs that went under the "popular" radar screen.  MultiDos was one of those.
