Game programmer required for slavery
« on: September 08, 2003, 08:39:06 PM »
This is gonna sound SO weird but it's driving me up the wall.

Intro:

With OS4 comin up & a contributions folder apparently going to be included. We need to fill it with things, right? There is the 'OS.community' deely for backgrounds which is coming on nicely but games?

I read somewhere about someone asking for a card game that could use Klondike card sets, great for the single player but what about multi player?

We will have a lot of excited users, a new OS & a new TCP/IP waffle to use.

Carrot & String:

Right, your average tank game (Worms type) has been done a million times. IMHO it has been done the right way TWICE, Worms Armageddon being the obvious choice, too funny to mention. The other I have only seen once.

Donkey required:

No no no, just kidding. Does anyone wanna join with someone (Me) who wants to make a network game in time for OS4. It's simple but effective, VERY effective.

This is the bit I didn't want to say but I have to. My only programming history consisits of AMOS, AMOS3D & Blitz. All of which I managed to crash on numerous occasions (Kinda funny in it's irony).

I won't bore you too much with game details unless someone genuinely wants to look into this & I know many will read this & say: "Pff, I ain't gonna do no Donkey work for this bean!" But believe me when I say, this game needs to see the light of day again.

>>Reading back, this really IS a weird thread, really, I feel like a bit of a plum, but I HAD to ask.

Hope to speak hear something soon, FuZion.

I knew it sounded a little... Erm... Mental.

If I wasn't running my own business, I'd learn to do it myself.

The best I can do is, not every member of a team is hardcore a programmer ;-) There are project managers, gfx peeps etc...
