If you have the money to throw away, why not?  Why not buy a brand spankin new A4kT... There are far more expensive hobbies than that...  The url didnt work for me but whatever the price of that A4kT is, it wouldnt pay for a cam install in my Vette.. LOL.  So, go enjoy spending $ on an A4kT if you choose.. eventually you're not going to be able to buy them brand new.

Cam install? You mean you don't do it yourself?

no.. too much work, too little time.  On my previous race car, I did alot of work on it.. I just got tired of doing my own work so I took it to a race shop up the street from my house and got a good deal on it.

Says the man from a country where both changing gear while driving in a streight line, and driving in a circle in identical cars count as motorsport. Seriously, American car enthusiasts should feel shame for nascar and drag racing.

EDIT: I'm also curious as to what you think needs "full disassembly of an engine". swapping cams is taking the cylinder heads off, and then putting them back on. And pretty much every time a car breaks down it's because X engine accessory broke, something that's usually easy to get to, or gasket failure which is also just taking the heads off, raplacing a sheet of cork, and putting it back on.

You're assuming that my car is stock.  It wasnt a stock cam install, it was actually a pretty high-lift/duration cam, had to check piston-to-valve clearance, replace valve springs to what the cam needed, check spring install height, check pushrod length.. and yes, on a C6 Corvette, its actually easier to do a cam install by removing the engine.  After that was done, it was dyno tuned.  I'm fixing to install nitrous on it though :)   This isnt a rinky-dink BMW with a blown headgasket.  LOL

As far as "american car enthusiats should feel shame" blah blah.. nobody cares, at least I dont.  I like drag racing, I like whatever racing is going on in your part of the world.  I dont like NASCAR.  I'm also into restored classic cars, any type of forced induction based vehicle (aftermarket installs)..anything that has to do with cars and horsepower.

Around here nothing after a C3 is even refered to as a Corvette, they're just Chevy's.

Anything before a C6 isnt acknowledged down here in Texas.
