Installing Compaq SCSI hd in Amiga 3000
« on: June 21, 2003, 07:48:15 PM »
I have a 4.3 gig Compaq SCSI hard drive I just bought used..yes it works.    I set the SCSI ID to 0, and set the jumper to terminate, but HDToolBox under 3.1 does not see it.. I have it setup as the only hard drive and am wanting to install 3.1 on it.

Any help appreciated.

hdtoolbox tooltype = scsi.device

I set the scsi ID to 1, termination is on the hd, just like a oldschool scsi drive... still does not find it.  Yes I have 3.1 roms installed.

hd is out of a regular pc..nothing fancy.    I got it working but here's the weird stuff.  Now this hard drive has checksum errors... the same symptoms like the other two.. they worked fine and then all of a sudden..checksum problems.  I installed a A3640 and read that sometimes it causes problems w/the A3000 scsi...you have to replace the dmac... so I removed the a3640..still have checksum errors... what could the problem be?
