HDTools issue
« on: March 19, 2005, 10:54:48 PM »
I have a A3000, Warp Engine 040, 3.1 roms, Quantum CTS40S primary drive, Seagate ST34555N secondary, external CD ROM drive.
I got it from a friend of mine who hasnt used it in years.. I cleaned it up and it goes to the Kickstart screen etc.  So I decide to install 3.1.. well when I get to HDTools, all drives are unknown.  So I click on the first (quantum I assume), read configuration, it cannot determine the size automatically for either of the drives.. and when I click save I get Error #4 on the Quantum and Error #20 on the Seagate.. any clue as to how I can get this working?

i reseated the WD scsi chip..even before the warp engine I had the same problems.  As for the int2 fix..no it doesnt and I dont think it matters if I have it.  Also I cannot see the drives on early boot startup.  I'll try the Aminet software thingy.

If I took pics of the hd's and their pin settings/termination can someone see if I have the jumpers/termination set correctly?

I pulled the WE out.. and am using the original SCSI cable.  The system used to work according to the previous owner.. it had 2 internal hd's and a external SCSI CDROM. I guess what is confusing to me is the jumpers on the other drive.. I have a spare 240megger I want to try but I dont know if termination/jumpers or whatever is done properly, which is why I wondered if I took pics someone can check it out.
