My favorite and I was thinking it would have been mentioned already was the Gravis Amiga Joystick. It had a brass center post and around the post was a spongee material similar to irragation sweat hose. The joystick was very durable and the best for playing wing commander, but not sure people who played shooters or arcade games would be as happy with this one.
