I'm satisfied with my towerized A4000 - it's worth at least 3k.

My Amiga 4000T with 68060  is worth $1350.  That includes all costs in it.  At $1000 and fully working its a bargain.  I'd agree with you though, that its worth at least $3000.  Market value wise, realistically  about $1000-1500 with 040 cpu.
Its major pluses:
- the battery
- the SCSI & IDE controllers (you can use both).  SCSI is faster.
- nice unique case
- well designed board

Its the only Amiga that is the way Amiga should have been built.  Only thing missing is the flicker fixer (which was included in A3000).  A1200 don't compare to it as they don't have any zorro slots.
Actually A1200/600/500 are in class of their own, i think its cool today to have a keyboard with computer in it.

Agreed, I had to work and spend a lot to make a better one ;-)
-CSPPC, Prometheus, Voodoo3, PicassoIV (because of the flickerfixer),  CVPPC
-the fastest SCSI + 2 slow IDE interfaces
-big lithium battery
-biiig ugly tower with looots of free slots
-3 UWSCSI + 1 IDE drives
-2 HD floppy drives
-X-Surf
-I'm nuts...
