Looks like many outsiders didn't even know AmigaOS was still going and running on PPC systems these days.

In 2008 I was one of these outsiders. But if you have a passion for Amiga, any piece of news can ignite curiosity, make you dig deeper and ... well ... you´ll find amiga.org and maybe the amiga roundtable podcast. Next thing you know is you sell your MacBook and get a SAM :insane:

I`d love to play with an X1000, but I am not convinced to make a long travel to some convention just to see somebody running Workbench and MPlayer.

MacBook and Sam are to different purposes.  Buying a SAm is good, but don't think you're going to replace your MacBook with it...

I didn´t mean to say that. I sold my MacBook Air (a somewhat useless device by itself). The replacement was not SAM, but something that has better UAE performance than the MBA (a Sony Vaio).

But the reason I wanted better UAE performance was: at home I was doing more stuff on SAM and wanted to have some of it on the road with me.:)

I am super excited about the X1000, but also a bit sceptical. I definitely won´t swap my ubercool UNICOMP keyboard for the AmigaOne model. Even if I am probably stuck with those ugly windows keys. :(

That is of course correct. I didn´t mean to say that SAM replaced my MacBook (MacBook Air to be precise). But after I had the SAM for some time I sold the Air and got a PC laptop, which is performing better when running UAE.
