First, Wesnoth needs to generate a cache for the fonts (fontconfig) and there's no progress feedback, unfortunately.

Secondly, your wesnoth font directory is filled with weird files (osx files?), apparently. I suggest you only keep the ones from the original archive (dejavusans.ttf, ...), and to speed up the cache process, even remove the big font (wqy-zenhei.ttc): it's only useful for chinese/arab/japanese glyphs, and it takes *a lot* of time (15 minutes or so on my machine) to generate the cache for these (i should really have skipped that font).

By the way, in snoopium, you might also show the calls that didn't fail, it makes the log flow easier to understand. :)

Make sure you really deleted the font i was talking about in font/. And the game should start in a couple seconds then. And next runs don't need to regenerate the cache anyway (cache file is created for that reason), so it should take less than 5s or so to start.

Tell me which filesystem you use, just in case. If it's FFS, the cache creation might have failed because long names aren't enabled, though i doubt it's the case, since the cache filename is less than 31 chars long anyway.

Some shared libraries were made available for 1.4.5 in the latest upgrade pack, but i don't think tiff.library and freetype.library were part of it, unfortunately.

Anyway, don't regret it too much if you planned to run it on PowerUp, because Wesnoth (especially latest versions) really need lots of memory and cpu resources.
