You'll get it working mate without spending anymore money...in any case Easynet is just a front end for amitcp so it wont solve your problem.
Firstly I would do what mfilos suggested, 2nd I would check that the IP address your using is in your static range i.e. not an address in your DHCP address range.
If your still having problems I suggest downloading amitcp 3.02b and using the guide that can be found here:

One last thing, have you double checked that the prism driver supports your pcmcia card?
