Possible to easily hide/unhide partitions under XP???
« on: April 12, 2004, 05:56:40 AM »
Hey everyone!

I'm wondering if it's possible to hide/unhide partitions under WinXP. Preferably I'd be able to access the partition with the drive letter directly, but the drive/partition would never show up under "my computer". Is this possible? I know that it can sorta be done with Partition Magic, but it requires a reboot when unhide a partition. Any suggestions???

Thanks guys. The link provided may be exactly what I'm looking for. It would be nice if I really can prevent it from showing up in the drive list, but still be able to access the drive by typing the letter in.

Alternatively, removing the drive letter may work just as well. I'm trying to setup a second hard drive for casual backups (I figure, the easier it is to back things up, the more likely it is that I'll get around to doing so regularely ;-) ). But of course, I don't want access to the backups to be TOO easy.  Anyway, thanks again.

ps: Sorta releated. Anyone know how to remove the "My Documents" from always appearing in the explorer list?
