Being this is the largest city in Canada, there are plenty of them within city limits.

heh? Not even close, unless the Ottawa Amiga show is in Toronto.  :-) But considering it's our capital and as such has a lot of tourism, yeah, there should be lots of hostels/B&B's.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it (never have actually).

FYI: Timmins is larger than Toronto. (AKA the place Shania Twain is from...)

PS: Why are you defending Toronto?

I'm not defending anything, but Toronto is the largest city in the country, only Montreal comes close.
