The 2006 mini has a very similar case, and what I do is use a flathead screwdriver to start it at the back and then i pry at the little notches in the bottom of the case. I don't have putty knives at my apartment as I don't work with drywall or anything

I actually like the sound, myself, but it is wayy too loud on my PowerMac G4 on startup. I'll dl the little tool. And I have a question; Why do people hate OS X? Its well updated (about every two years) it has amazing software support when compared to other UNIX/Linux derivatives, and its Aqua/Quartz is vastly better than window's current set up. I can't say its the best interface out there, but it is pretty nice.
