I can't get my A2000 to start. Strip out all the resellable parts and to pick it up to chuck it in the bin, then I hear a rattle. A screw is rolling loose on the motherboard. Facepalm.
Get charged 300$ plus $50 labour to replace what I knew was a dead floppy drive, in 1989. I could have got one for $220 and put it in myself. This was also before you got any warranty on a computer/electronics (probably a weeks worth at least).
Not being around when you could charge people $150 per hour to 'service' their computer and then tell them it can't be fixed. Facepalm.
