Any chance of disabling 3000's WD controller then? Something like NoIDE, but for SCSI.
Or perhaps one could assemble a custom KS without SCSI module(s)?

Both is possible. I'm not sure how the RomTag is called for the A3000 SCSI device, but if it's just "scsi.device", you could hack the right name into the NoIDE or NoNCRScsi RomTag and use that (I'm not at my machine right now, so I can't check the actual names of the romtags used). I too had a KickRom without IDE module on my A4000 machine.

So I was brave enough to throw NoIDE into Deneb's flash. Whoa! Gone are scsi.device and long boot delay. Buddha is still here with its 2nd.scsi.device.

Thanks all!

Nice.

BTW: You don't have to be brave just to try it out. No need to flash it into the Deneb -- PsdLoadModule will work just fine for that purpose ;)
