They won't....

A low-cost portable OS4 compatible computer has too much chance (however slight) of being an actual success for them to ever risk releasing it.

I have a theory

its like in the Shawshank Redemption when the old guy Brooks (who had lived in the prison system for a very long time) was actually up for parole and tried to do something to sabotage it because he was afraid of living back in society.
