...try with Kickstart 2.05 (37.300) or KS3.x + OS3.5 or 3.9 + SFS  or PFS3 (if you want to have large partition)!

Becareful with the large size HDD if its power supply is taken on the A600.
As Thomas writes: the better choise is "a CF-IDE adapter with a 4GB CF card"
