You may want to completely remove the motherboard and wash it, dry it and the clean it with isopropyl alcohol as gertsy says, or acetone. The socket“s pins may be broken below, the same thing happend to me with an A501-like memory expansion, I will need to either replace the socket or solder the clock chip directly to the board.
