What if 'X' means they're going X86?! I'm not in love with X86 but maybe they just wanted hardware they could actually get without breaking the bank in development costs. Hardware that works, is expandable and can be argued to have a future as well as a choice of real, production-ready chip vendors. Just sayin'..
I'm very happy to be wrong here, if it's a new and hot PPC board that can at least outperform a Mac MDD-FW800 than I'm in :-)
