No. No surprises here.
They're waiting for the courts to figure out their contracts as are Hyperion.
I think they should just scrap the old deals and start from new, assuming the roles of OEM OS vendor with great product to sell, and purveyors of The Name, who desperately need something with their name on it which they can sell/pair up with their partners and get some money. After all, they're forever protesting to their creditors (the ones still bothering to care) that they're not the same company under the same contracts.. Yet they ARE the same company for Hyperion?! I guess it's an IP thing :-/
Seriously, do Amiga think people are just going to stop using their iPhones and FLOCK OVER to Amiga's GREAT NEW CEL PHONE HIJINKS?! Oh yes, I can run Omega OS 5 on my cel-this iPhone is a piece of crap! I'll just wipe all that Jobs junk off its ROM and stick Amega on there instead! :-D (for the thick: Yes, I'm being sarcastic here!)
That's what Amiga are really hoping to get into, and I wish them luck and all-but seriously! It's 2007, OK almost 2008, and anything/everything they want to do can/is already being done. It's called JAVA, guys! Apple has officially beaten you to the punch. Do you think no one will ever write a dashboard widget to allow the remote purchase of greasy refreshments during sporting events? OK, what ever you need to tell yourselves.
For the love of Pete, would they just figure it out: they are the owners of a retro-geek toy! Embrace it, enjoy it, package Mini-Migs into Joysticks, D64 style, sell them at Fred Meyer and be happy!!
Please, Amiga, use your skills for this instead of the other crap. You'll actually make money, get some real street cred, and even make money for your partners.
THAT would be a great Christmas surprise for everyone, Amiga!
