Once I soldered new PCI slots into a PowerMac clone, a Umax J700. (The J700 shipped with four slots populated, the other two empty. Putting connectors into the other slots on the mobo made it an S900 ;-) I got the slots from an old Compaq riser board. I desoldered them with a Radio Shack solder sucker, then gently soldered them into the motherboard. Yes, both slots worked afterwards :-) It might be cheaper/faster to find a dead laptop somewhere and steal its slot. If you're good with solder ;-)
