Blizzard in A1200 - Trapdoor "bulge" normal?
« on: February 18, 2009, 09:42:26 PM »
Recently installed a Blizzard '30 50MHz accelerator in my Amiga 1200.  Very happy with the results so far...

My concern is the trapdoor appears to bulge slightly now is this normal?   Is this of any concern?  Is there another trapdoor I should use instead of the stock one?

Also, any heat concerns with an accelerator like this in my system?   Should I put some holes in my trapdoor for venting?

Thanks

Thanks, for the feedback...

I think I might leave it for now...  But I'm probably going to work on a replacement trapdoor.   I have some spare clear lexan plastic laying around.  Think I'm going cut that into a rectangle slightly larger then the opening.  Drill some vent holes in the plastic.  Finally attach it with a few pieces of Velcro.  Plus a few sticky plastic feet inside strategically placed on the plastic door so the card doesn't "dangle".  That's the plan anyway...   I only have like 1-2mm under the amiga to work with so plastic thickness may be an issue...
