Atari 2600 demo
« on: February 25, 2009, 12:55:05 PM »
I'm sorry to come up here with the Atari enemy but couldn't resist, really.
Check out this:

Doctor by Trilobit

This demo is a f*n' madhouse, man, it destroyed my sanity for days.
What I'm trying to say is...  This was made using 128B of RAM plus 256B on an external cartridge.  And two sound channels...

That kind of stuff in our today's Terabyte World of PC Regime shows really that this all sorts of effort and resources is nothing but a tremendous waste.  Todays computers are not about computing whatsoever anymore.  It's all about selling more RAM as the price decreases.

And one more thing to remember: but for all Ataris (e.g. 520ST) Amiga wouldn't have become what it did.

Respect.
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

Maybe what diskdoctor meant was that Miner's work on the 8-bit Atari's lead to the development of the Amiga. That would be a true statement. ST had nothing to do with Amiga 'cept cripple some of its software at the time.

This is exactly what I meant.  Shouldn't have mentioned ST since I hardly know it and the story about it except that it was a main Amiga opponent.  All I remember is that it sucked bigtime and had MIDI interface built in which did nothing special.

No need to call me nuts really, mistakes aren't delusions, sometimes stupid  though.  Shouldn't just post something I wasn't sure of.  Me sorry.

The ST didn't suck big time, it just wasn't as good as the Amiga, and thereby it was cheaper.
The PC, now that scrapheap sucked big time.

PS was not classified to me back then.  I with my mates fought PCs, that is people showing us some ridiculous Warlords or getting an orgasm as Prince of Persia showed up.

But ST games were far from Amiga ones.  I would say it didn't suck but for all the ST people claiming it is better.
