Anyone use parnet anymore?
« on: March 26, 2012, 07:31:09 AM »
I have an A3K on my desk that I want to use for some things, but I've lost the ability to get anything into it that isnt already on a Amiga DD floppy.

My PCs no longer have floppy drives. While the 3K has 3.0 roms, I cant find the install disk to my 3.1 floppies- so it is still WB2.1. That means support for an TCP/IP stack on the A2065 will be difficult. (KA9Q if I remember, and I'd have to kludge a bridge from coax 10base2 to 100baseT anyway.)

I've had no luck getting my external SCSI CDROM drive working, its been years since I used it last. It sees the SCSI device in the list, but never recognises the drive so installing 3.5 or 3.9 (which I have the CDs for)  is out. And I dont think they would fit in the existing drive anyway.

Soo... Even though the last time I remember using it was like 1999, I still have a bright yellow Parnet cable laying in my closet.

I just dont remember how to use it- is there even software that will run on windows anymore?

Sorry if the ignorance seems extreme- just life happens and I haven't had the time to spend on the Amiga much in several years. I've forgotten quite abit. I searched around, and even looked at Aminet, but the most recent package having anything to do with parnet is from like 1995.
