Amiga 3000T Power supply rebuild/replace
« on: January 28, 2017, 02:55:16 AM »
Trying to get my 3000T going again after years of being down.  Pretty sure power supply is the problem.  It will power on and fans run but all I get is a black screen.  Voltages are low when tested.

Does anyone know anyone who would repair these or sell something that will work with the 3000T?  Not really worried about it fitting in the case if the old one can't be rebuilt.  Just want to get my 3000T back up and running.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help and suggestions.

No battery leakage.  I removed the battery many years ago to keep this from happening.

I am pretty sure it's the power supply and have an ATX supply I'm going to try to put in it as soon as an adapter I have found about and ordered gets here.

After talking with the maker of the adapter this is what I went with:

I'll let you know how it works out.

Hoping to get it up and running and install OS 4.0 for the cyberstorm PPC.  I have asked for suggestions on that as well here if you have any:

Again many thanks!

Well guys I got the adapter and a new ATX power supply and hooked it all up.  Still having problems.  Have tried both with and without the cyberstorm accelerator installed.

System flashes 2 colors when turned on.  First appears to be black and then a lighter color of black with bars in it.  Then it repeats.

The power light flashes 7 times before stopping and repeating again.

There is no battery leakage on the board as this was pulled before it became a problem.  System was working fine with the Cyberstorm and a Picasso IV before it quit working several years ago.

When it first quit working I swapped all the removable chips from my 3000 Desktop with the 3000T and didn't get anywhere.  I also tried the picasso IV and the Cybertstorm in my 3000 Desktop and they both worked fine there.

Any suggestions as to what to try next would be appreciated.  I sure would love to get my 3000T going again.

Thanks
Tim
