A600 PCMCIA CF Issue
« on: May 07, 2016, 05:23:31 PM »
Hi All,

Whilst demoing my machines at the UK South West Amiga Group event today I discovered a possible problem with the A600.  When installing this (OS3.1) a year ago I installed the basic OS via floppy then used the PCMCIA CF adapter to copy the remaining applications (AmiTCP, iBrowse, Wookiechat etc) to get it into a usable state.

The machine still has the CC0 (CF0? I forget) device in DEVS/DosDrivers but no longer recognises the CF card (I've tried two, both of which work in the A1200).  If I double click on the device in DEVS it reports 'CC0/CF0 already mounted'.

Am I missing something obvious?   The PCMCIA slot is proven OK (network adapter works 100%).

The only different between the machine at install time and now, is the addition of an A604n and ACA620.  The machine has recently been re-capped and is otherwise 100% stable.

Any $clue appreciated...

Thanks for the comments.  I'll get it set up again and try to provide some more useful info.

Is fat95 still in L: ?
I'm thinking maybe it somehow got deleted.

This was the exact issue. Not sure how/when it was deleted but replacing it fixed the problem!  Thanks :)
