Glad to discover an active Amiga community :-D
« on: August 14, 2008, 05:20:07 PM »
Hi all!

I just signed up, and I'm happy to see so many Amiga fans that are still active :-)

I aim to support the Amiga community in several ways:

*Source rare (some new) and hard to get hardware, and sell it at a reasonable price.

*Develop new hardware, and sell it too at a reasonable price. I have just completed a project in fact...more on this soon.

*Invest some of my own money &/or profit back into the Amiga commnunity by (a) donating to keep this site going (which I have done already) and (b) developing more hardware.

*Help other users by sharing my knowledge (where possible) - not that I am an expert on things Amiga :-S

I'm a pretty friendly guy, so anyone is more that welcome to contact me at any time ;-)

Thanks for your attention :oops:,

Nathan

@kreciu

He he. It does work. It's very simple. I sell modified 500W PSU's for Amiga, and it's what I power my A500 & GVP with ;-) I decided to make a cable as well to suit overseas buyers who would have to pay a fortune on shipping/postage, due to the weight of the PSU. I am also having trouble selling my 500W ATX PSU's for Amiga 500/600/1200/A4000/CD32. I bought 10 of them, and have only sold 2 so far :-S Obviously, I spent a fair bit of money buying them, so I may not buy any more once they all sell. I will probably stick to cables. My wife is not to happy with me!

@all :-D

I felt that I should defend Amigkit.com when I saw this post (not that it is offensive or anything), but forgot about it. Also, not to say that you were attacking him/her/them ;-) Anyhow...

My own personal experience with Amigkit.com: - 1) Their prices were the cheapest I could find across the various webshops selling Amiga hardware (without turning over every rock) & (2) I received items in a timely manner in the post, and I found their shipping/postage charges to be very reasonable. Answering of e-mails was good too.

Also, regarding a business, (of any size - where the proprietor earns a living from it), they must achieve certain profit margins to survive. They may have staff to pay, hosting fees etc etc - overheads. So, just because you see someone selling an item significantly more expensive than mine (or not!), doesn't necessarily mean they are trying to rip you off :-) I personally believe that Amigakit.com are one of the good guys out there selling Amiga hardware :-)
